With the big plans set in stone, it’s time to make a to-do list of little things that need doing before your big day! Take a read through some the most important tasks to complete in the weeks leading up to your wedding day.
Pick up your dress and shoes
Your dress is an essential part of your big day, you need time to make sure everything fits perfectly. Try to pick it up as close to your date as possible. Double check everything looks right and feels comfortable. Try everything from head to toe on to ensure you feel beautiful, there’s nothing worse than having a last minute change of heart about your shoes!
Get Prepared
Think ahead! It’s inevitable that there will be a little mishap during the day. Whether that be a pin coming loose from your updo or bridesmaid with a blister its good to get prepared. Pack a makeup bag with items such as plasters, pain killers, a mini hair spray, a nail file, and a needle and thread.
Beauty Treatments
Schedule any beauty treatments as close to your big day as possible. Freshly dyed hair and perfect nails are must-haves for walking down the aisle. Choose trusted therapists to prevent any treatment disasters.
Payment Deadlines
Look through the contracts you have with your venue and suppliers and make note of the final payment deadline. Pay the outstanding sum or prepare your payment method if it is due after the wedding. It’s important to pay suppliers on time, especially if they are small businesses!
Chat to your Photographer
Have one final chat with your photographer. You may find it useful to note down a few shots you want to make sure they capture. You don’t want to be left disappointed, so let them know what you’re expecting!
A Quick Headcount
Depending on the size of your wedding, a few dropouts are inevitable. Make note of these and get in contact with your venue and caterer to make them aware of this. The seating plan might need to be slightly rejigged to even out the numbers on a few tables.
DJ Set List
Just as it’s important to establish your expectations with your photographer, it’s also a great idea to let your DJ know what your favourite songs are to avoid disappointment on the night. Your DJ can include these tunes in their set and get all your guests onto the dance floor.
Practice Makes Perfect
Have a run through of the most high pressure moments of the day. Take a stroll in shoes you’ll wear down the aisle. Whatever the style of shoe, it’s important to break them in and try walking on a similar surface to your ceremony location. Read your vows and any speeches aloud. You can read through in your head but it’s very different saying them out loud, avoid stumbles and learn every word off by heart.
Leave a Note
Don’t forget the most important part of all this, your partner! Write your husband or wife-to-be a little note to open on the morning of your wedding. Let them know how excited you are to see and marry them, maybe even include a little gift they can use or wear on the day!
